Kananga Farm is a 256 acres grassfarm located 1 mile north of the diamond in Ligonier, PA.  We raise the hertiage of breed of cattle called Devon on 100% grass without the use of routine anitbiotics, hormones, pesticides and herbicides.  In addtion to the grass, Kananga Farm serves a Devon 'free choice'  vitamin and minerals smorgasbord. 

Kananga Farm utilizes the "Mob Grazing" method, fashioned after the African elephants and wildebeest.  Where the herd of wildlife comes into a grassy area, eats it down, pounds on it, defecates on it and leaves the next day.  Sixty days later there is a lush stand of green grass.  

The Mob Grazing method builds up top soil and nutrients while sequestering carbon; thereby, decreasing the farms carbon footprint and producing luscious, highly nutritious feed for the cattle.  This method also geatly decreases soil run off, preserving it for future generations.

Mob Grazing also contributes to the cleanliness of the Devon's environment who prefer and are outside 100% of the year.  The several times a day movement to new pasture land contributes to the decrease in cattle diseases, illness and parasitic activity.   (Read on or order now by clicking KANANGA FARM STORE)
